Cookies
- The Baylis website, email messages, and advertisements may use “cookies” and other technologies such as pixel tags and web beacons. These technologies help us better understand user behaviour, tell us which parts of our websites people have visited, and facilitate and measure the effectiveness of advertisements and web searches. We treat information collected by cookies and other technologies as non-personal information. However, to the extent the Internet Protocol (IP) addresses or similar identifiers are considered personal information by local law, we also treat the identifiers as personal information. Similarly, to the extent that non-personal information is combined with personal information, we treat the combined information as personal information for the purposes of this Privacy Policy.
- We also use cookies and other technologies to remember personal information when you use our website and online services. Our goal in these cases is to make your experience with Baylis more convenient and personal. For example, knowing someone using your computer or device has shopped a certain product or used a particular service helps us make our advertising and email communications more relevant to your interests. And knowing your contact information, hardware identifiers, and information about your computer or device helps us personalise your operating system and provide you with better customer service.

- As is true of most internet services, we gather some information automatically and store it in log files. This information includes Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, browser type and language, Internet service provider (ISP), referring and exit websites and applications, operating system, date/time stamp, and clickstream data. We use this information to understand and analyse trends, to administer the site, to learn about user behaviour on the site, to improve our product and services, and to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole. We may use this information in our marketing and advertising services.
- In some of our email messages, we use a “click-through URL” linked to content on the Baylis website. When customers click one of these URLs, they pass through a separate web server before arriving at the destination page on our website. We track this click-through data to help us determine interest in particular topics and measure the effectiveness of our customer communications. If you prefer not to be tracked in this way, you should not click text or graphic links in the email messages.
- Pixel tags enable us to send email messages in a format customers can read, and they tell us whether mail has been opened. We may use this information to reduce or eliminate messages sent to customers.

Aftersales Department Terms of Business
These terms of business are not intended to and do not affect your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015
Leaving Your Vehicle With Us Your vehicle is parked on our premises at your own risk. We will not be liable if your vehicle is stolen or broken into, or if it suffers body damage (unless caused by our negligence). You should therefore ensure your vehicle is insured at all times.
Quotations Our quotes are valid for 14 days from the date they are given. They are provisional only, although we will seek your authority before continuing with work where it is clear that our quote will be substantially exceeded.
What Is Included Your job card details the work we will carry out. We will charge you for the parts and labour required to do the work.
What Is Not Included We will not carry out any work not specifically detailed on your job card, unless we consider it reasonably necessary to complete the work you have authorised us to do. If you want us to carry out additional work, we will provide a further quote and will agree it with you first. If we recommend work which you do not authorise us to do, we will not be liable for any loss or damage arising as a result of that work not being done.
Road Tests You authorise us to road test your vehicle as part of the work we do. We are insured in case of accident. We do not provide fuel for road tests. We will not be liable for any loss or damage arising as a result of component failure during road tests, other than those components which we have replaced as part of the work we have carried out.
Parts Availability If the parts required to complete the work are unavailable, we will inform you as soon as possible. We may re-arrange the time and date of your appointment with us in such circumstances.
Invoices If you have any queries regarding our invoice, you should raise them as soon as possible and usually within 14 days of the invoice date.
Fees You will pay our invoice on receipt. Please note we do not accept payment by American Express or personal cheque. We reserve the right to charge interest on any unpaid invoice at the rate of 4% above the base rate for the time being of Royal Bank of Scotland plc. We also reserve the right to retain your vehicle under lien until such time as you settle our invoice in full and to sell your vehicle by public auction if any invoice remains unpaid for a period of 3 months from the date of issue.
Storage You will pay our reasonable storage charges in the event that your vehicle remains on our premises (whether because you fail to collect it or because we are exercising our lien over it).
Delay We will not be liable for any delay in the completion of the work.
Sub-Contractors You authorise us to sub-contract work to any competent repairers we think fit.
Warranty We warrant our work for a minimum of 12 months from the date on which it is carried out. Our warranty does not include the provision of an alternative vehicle for us by you whilst defects are corrected.
Our Liability To You We will not be liable other than for our negligent acts and omissions. We will not be liable for any loss or damage that is not reasonably foreseeable or that results from any act or omission by you. In particular, we will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from normal wear and tear, use of the vehicle otherwise than as the manufacturer intended or failure to have the vehicle serviced in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations. We will not in any circumstances be liable for any loss relating to any business interest(s) you may have, including loss of profits, loss of opportunity or of business, or loss of earnings--
